Following earlier security issues, major vulnerabilities have been discovered in Ruby on Rails, the highly popular Ruby framework used by massive services like GitHub and Hulu. The issues, which are the result of weaknesses in “the parameter parsing code,” allow attackers to “bypass authentication systems, inject arbitrary SQL, inject and execute arbitrary code, or perform a DoS attack on a Rails application.”

As Windows 8 continues to gain market share, Microsoft has announced i has sold 60 million total Windows 8 licenses since the operating system first launched in October 2012. The company also confirmed the Windows Store has passed the 100 million app download mark.
With this new figure, it’s clear now that total Windows 8 sales have grown by 33 percent since late November, when Microsoft announced 40 million licenses had been sold. Applications are now open for the spring startup acceleration cycle at Plug and Play Accelerator Valencia. As its name suggests, the program will take place in Valencia, Spain, and will last 3 to 4 months.
As you may remember, Silicon Valley-based Plug and Play Tech Centerannounced last June that it was expanding into Spain, where its first batch of startups have recently celebrated their first Expo Day.
While its graduates already include Wayra Argentina’s alum Quolaw, Plug and Play wants to seek Latin American applications more actively in 2013.
